Australia Day Honours for A/Prof Don McTaggart
Congratulations to Tasmanian recipients of Australia Days honours, particularly local indefatigable cardiologist A/Prof Don McTaggart (AM), who set up the first ICU in the state at the North West Regional Hospital offered the first echocardiographic service in Tasmania, was the first cardiologist at the Launceston General Hospital and is still working! Congratulations also to Tasmanian legend Dr Brian Walpole (AM) from the Royal Hobart Hospital Emergency Department who was frontline during the Port Arthur Massacre, the amazing Ketrina Clarke (OAM) from the South Esk Swimming Club and Ian Chesterman (AM) Chef de Mission for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, among other extraordinary Tasmanians who received awards today!
